After losing her job, Jersey girl Stephanie Plum is broke. Needing a job she is told that her cousin, a bail bondsman, needs someone to help out in the office. But the only job openings he has are for skip tracers. She learns that Joe Morelli, a guy she knew intimately years ago, is one of the "skips". She eventually finds him but wasn't really prepared so he gets away. Another bounty hunter, Ranger, tries to teach her. Eventually she finds Morelli again, but he claims he is innocent of the crime he is accused of and he is trying to prove his innocence. Eventually Stephanie thinks he's telling the truth so she stakes out the person who can help him. She only finds herself in trouble and Morelli saves her. She tries to find someone who can prove his innocence, but the problem is that shortly after meeting with them they're killed or attacked. Last night went to the show with 3 of my best Buds, watched One for the Money..Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. Always thought Sandra Bullock would have made the right Steph, but must admit Heigl did a great job..The guy who played Ranger is beautiful but always thought the Rock would be perfect. Was very happy with Joe did not miss the brown eyes one bit. Connie, Vinnie and Lulu PERFECT! Read some of the other reviews and thought they scored it low. The critics reviews were what I expected. If they don't like it its a pretty sure thing I will. I think about all the movies that the critics raved about and after I saw them figured the critics didn't understand them either so they raved so they wouldn't have to admit they didn't get it either. This was a fun movie not deep fun like it was meant to be. Sometimes we don't want a thinker we just want to be entertained and this movie was just that. Now if they would make the J D Robb books into a movie (and let me cast) all would be good. And yes I would pay another 17 time to see each of the books in film. Being a fan of the book series I was very excited to hear of a movie coming out. But a little apprehensive whenever I saw the cast. Not sure of the actors chosen. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't know them or their work. The movie was decent. I think they should have followed the book a little more closely. The Ramirez character was much more menacing and scary in the book. He stalked her and was very brutal. He had very little screen time. One encounter, one phone call, one beating to Lula. On Flixster, one user commented that the movie had startling violence. I find the book more violent.<br/><br/>All in all, the movie was good. The characters were funny and the famous Grandma shooting the chicken's ass off is in it. Although they seriously cut down the Grandma and Lula parts. Really could have used a lot more. This movie is a must see for Plum fans. If they make another one, they need to stick closer to the book. She's (Heigl) disastrously miscast as a character beloved by fans of novelist Janet Evanovich. Yes, this film is based on the worldwide best-selling 18-book mystery series by Janet Evanovic.
